Snow Fall & Puppy Paws

Truly there is nothing more magical to me than watching snow fall out my window! Living in Ohio now I get to see a lot of it!!! Everyone tells me that by our fourth winter here I will be sick of it. I might get sick of it on the ground but I do not think I will ever tire of watching it drift lazily to the ground.
Ok, on to the serious stuff. I worked out three times this week and felt pretty good. Sadly, I did not make it to my weight watchers meeting today because I have been sick and did not really start feeling better until around 1:30 today.
Puppy Paws. I. Love. My. Dogs! They really are such blessings in my life. They cuddled on the couch all day with me on Friday! They greet me at the door everyday as if we have not seen each other in years! They are amazing. So, a little tribute to my fabulous dogs.

This is Cheyenne. She is the amazing alpha dog around here! She loves to play outside especially in the snow! She is Aaron's dog. She sits by the door every night and waits for Aaron to come home.

This is my Mia! She is in her Christmas outfit here....yes I occasionally dress my dogs. Mia is a princess. When we first moved to Ohio she would not even step in the grass! Now she runs in the snow with Cheyenne..she is still a bit of a wimp but she is much better!
    I love my dogs :)

Neti-Pot

This may be the most disgusting thing I will ever blog about. Neti Pot. I must say though...I am a believer! I've been sick the past few days and yesterday I used the neti. It was amazing! I could breathe through my nose, it unplugged my ears, and helped my throat! If you do not know what a Neti- pot is well let me just tell you. You put warm water in this pot and you put this salt mixture in there and then you lean over the sink and put the nozzle in one of your nostrils and pour!!! It is so gross but it works like a dream! Let me tell you how we came to own a neti- pot in our house.
On our honeymoon Aaron started getting sick and you can NOT be sick on your honeymoon! So we went to the drug store and loaded up on medication and...the neti- pot! Who knew that I would see this gross side of my husband and we had only been married a couple of days! It worked though! He even uses it for his allergies. He felt better and he has been a believer in it ever since.
     I am a believer!

A Man That Cooks

I have the most amazing husband. This amazing husband is also an amazing cook. Last night I attempted to make chicken parmigiana. Aaron makes it all the time and it is delicious!!! Mine, not so much. Aaron even gave me step by step directions and it just didn't taste as good as his does! I have a few dishes that I can whip up in the kitchen but I am by no means cook. I follow recipes step by step by step. People that can go in the kitchen and add a pinch of this a smidgen of that truly amaze me. I'm working on becoming the best me this year...and cooking is definitely a thing I can work on!

Babies Babies Everywhere!

Today at church I was sitting in Sunday school and I looked around and I was surrounded! There were seven adorable babies within an arms reach around me. After it was over my friend Kate (who is also newly married and does not have any kids) looked at me and said I did not hear two words of what this lesson was about because of all the cute babies! I totally agreed!
I work with babies everyday but the babies at church are just a little more...special to see.  I think it's seeing all these moms with their babies and their special connections.
Some days I am glad to not have any kids yet because for some reason that is just how it has happened.  I have been able to explore the world and myself. I have made wonderful and life long friends. I'm grateful for my life and the way it has turned out but some days, like today, makes me want a chubby little baby to cuddle up with on the couch. :)

Weight and Waiting

I figured having a picture of my future kitchen would be perfect for something titled Weight and Waiting.
The Weight part. Well I lost two pounds this week! WooHoo! (insert sarcasm) But you have to start somewhere right? At my WW meeting this morning this hilarious lady was like, "ya'll be crazy for hollerin' about one itty bitty pound." But then she went on to talk about how it had taken her more than a few months to gain this weight so it was obvious that it was going to take more than a few months to lose what she had gained. I thought this lady was right on.  We are from a generation where we want everything now.  I get impatient when it takes more than a milisecond for my internet to connect. So, I lost two pounds this week! WooHoo! (Forget the sarcasm it's better than gaining two pounds)
The Waiting part. See that picture up there. I LOVE that kitchen. I love white. I know I'll have to wait for it though...and still then it may never happen. The other day as I was doing dishes and counting down the days til I get a dishwasher (three years and six months), I realized that Aaron and I will be in this house for that much longer! I have not lived in the same place for that long since I lived with my parents!!! That is crazy. Our house is pretty small but perfect for us....and maybe one more.  So next time I'm out garage selling and I see a piece of furniture I could sand down and paint. I'm going to wait. I mean I realize that when I was in Oklahoma I was at an antique store and bought an old door and forgot that I came here on a plane.
Patience is a virtue and I will definitely enjoy my time while I'm waiting.

Eggs & Turkey Sausage

Today, I woke up and went to the gym! Yeah me! I did the elliptical for 45 minutes. It's amazing how hard that first step is to do something good for yourself. After I got there and got started all I could think the rest of the day was, "why is this so hard to do when I feel so good afterwards?"
What is also incredible to me is how this time two years ago I could jog (well walk fast for one minute and jog for two minutes :) ) for thirty minutes!
This morning for breakfast I had some fabulous fried eggs and turkey sausage. It was delicious and only seven points. This was an accomplishment because I've never been able to cook a fried egg! Two accomplishments in one day makes me a happy lady.

New Year

So, I had a blog. I posted on it twice and then I stopped.
Recently my wonderful sister-in-law has been blogging daily and I love reading it! I love seeing a glimpse into her daily life.
Also, I'm trying to lose weight and today I saw on yahoo that people that write down their dieting trials are more likely to lose more weight.
So, I want to blog!
